[He's not that surprised that he noticed, but this pause this time is longer all the same. He's still not sure if he wants to mention all of what happened, but he's still got to decide what to say. And that is hard to do this time around, for many reasons.]
Ye died again, Doctor. I...I don't know if ye want to know how this time.
[Again. Although he suspects Eleven's not the only one that died in that particular way. Six had been in there too, and possibly some of the other Doctors as well, but he's not entirely sure.]
He's...back, aye. I've seen him. Clara's back, too. Same as I am.
[That's one way to put it. Back. Back from heads that exploded and skies that fell and crushed them. Back from dying when the world collapsed in on itself.]
I've talked to her. Don't know about any of the others, though. I'm sorry.
[Things go quiet for a moment on Jamie's end, the pause much longer than it had been before. But eventually he does say something, although it's quieter than it had been before.]
[What do you say to that? "I hope it was quick"? "At least you're better now"? "At least you had someone with you"? None of those were right, so he chooses to simply express his sorrow.]
[That comes out just as quietly, but then he takes an audible breath and sounds a bit more like his usual self. An unhappy version of it, granted, but it's still closer.]
There wasn't anything I could do, Doctor. I tried, but...
[voice]
Aye, I saw some of them. A couple of ye. Rose, Alice...Clara.
[voice]
Jamie, what happened?
[voice]
Ye died again, Doctor. I...I don't know if ye want to know how this time.
[voice]
[Again? And poor Jamie had to watch again, from his tone.]
Jamie, I'm sorry. Which one was it? And...is he back yet?
[voice]

[He sighs heavily, trying to brush aside every worst case scenario that is running through his head.]
It's not your fault. I'm glad you and Clara are both back in one piece at least. Is Clara coping alright with your ordeal?
[voice]
She was there too, Doctor.
[voice]
Oh, Jamie, I'm so sorry, to both of you.
[What do you say to that? "I hope it was quick"? "At least you're better now"? "At least you had someone with you"? None of those were right, so he chooses to simply express his sorrow.]
